LOCAL LAW 2-2018 Proposed Changes to Local Speed Limit FINAL

 

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Pursuant to a resolution adopted by the Village Board of the Village of Nassau, the Village Board shall hold a public hearing on December 12, 2018, at 6:15 pm, in the Village Hall of the Village of Nassau located at 40 Malden Street, Nassau, New York, to receive comments from the public on a proposed local law as follows:

A LOCAL LAW AMENDING §111-8 OF THE NASSAU CODE, TO PROVIDE A 25 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT WITHIN VILLAGE STREETS.

This Local Law would repeal current §111-8 of the Nassau Village Code, relating to speed limits on Village streets. It would reduce the speed limit for all Village streets with in the Village of Nassau from 30 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour. State roads and county roads would not be affected by this amendment. The change in speed limitation would take place on February 1, 2019.

A copy of the proposed local law may be reviewed at the Village Hall, during the Village Clerk’s regular business hours, or on the Village website.

INFORMATIONAL MEETING

The Village of Nassau Zoning Review Committee has completed their Proposed Zoning Law Amendments. The proposed changes can be viewed at https://villagenassau.wpengine.com/proposed-zoning-law-updates/. Please take time to review the proposed changes and note questions and concerns you may have for the Village Board of Trustees. An informational meeting where the proposed changes will be discussed has been scheduled for December 12th at 6:30pm at the Village Hall.

VILLAGE OF NASSAU ELECTION NOTICE

NOTICE

A NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the General Election of the Village of Nassau, County of Rensselaer, State of New York 12123, will be held at the Village Municipal Building, 40 Malden Street, in said Village on the 19th day of March, 2019 and the polls will be open at 12:00 noon and close at 9:00 p.m.  

The Village Clerk designates the following offices as vacant at the end of the current official year, to be filled for the following term:

 Mayor for the term of Robert W. Valenty for the term of four years

Trustee for the term of David Scaccia for the term of four years.

Trustee for the term of Randy Howarth for the term of four years.

Justice for the term of Michael Conway for the term of four years.

Election is open to voters registered with Rensselaer County Board of Elections. The last day to register with the County Board of Elections is Friday March 8, 2019.
