Bio
Guy Forte has served as a Village Trustee since 2012. Guy moved to the Village in the summer of 2000 with his wife, Sue. They share a home on Elm Street with Sue’s mom, Judy Ziller. Guy has served the Village and surrounding community for many years in a number of organizations including the Village Beautification Committee, Friends of the Nassau Free Library, the Hudson Valley-Berkshire Interfaith Community Network, the Cooperative Community Food Compact, and the Nassau Community Gardens Project. In 2009, Guy helped to establish the Nassau Sunshine Fund, a charitable organization that provides no-interest loans to Nassau residents who are faced with financial emergencies. In 2012, Guy was named Chair of the Fund. For five years prior to becoming a Trustee, Guy served on the Village Planning Board and was appointed by Mayor Collins to the Police Survey Committee in 2011. As a Trustee, Guy has helped to establish the Village Youth Committee; lead efforts to redesign the Village website and to update the Village Masterplan; helped kickstart the Albany-Hudson Electric Trail, review and update a variety of Village laws, including those related to noise control, property maintenance, and zoning, and operationally and financially re-structure the Village police department; secured a grant to partially fund the construction of a pavilion at the Village Commons; and worked toward establishing greater transparency in Village government operations.
Trustee Forte is employed at a local health research consultancy as the Assistant Director. In his spare time, Guy is an avid cyclist and enjoys caring for his horse, Frankie, a blue-eyed, white and brown paint, and playing the drums and guitar.
